On June 3rd, 2021, at Movenpick Hotel Beirut  (Mistral venue – 7th floor, General De Gaulle Avenue, Beirut, 6908, Lebanon) a press event followed by a tasting dinner was held for the promotion of “European Rice” in the Arab market.

The event was attended by guests from the food industry, journalists and bloggers, specializing in health and nutrition as well as food marketing and distribution professionals and they had the opportunity to learn more about European rice, as well as its production processes.

It was a great honor to have the head of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of Greece in Lebanon, Mr. Iakovos Collaros, Consultant of ISD A, who addressed a short greeting to the attendees. Among the speakers at the event was Food Ambassador Sara Assi, who stressed the nutritional benefits of consuming European rice and its quality.

The main presentation of the program and its products was undertaken by Konstantinos Giannopoulos, CEO of the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Thessaloniki (EASTH), with the help of recorded video, but also live connection was given the opportunity to answer questions from guests, as due to the general situation prevailing at the time with the spread of Covid-19, did not allow representatives of the organization to travel to the target country. The event started with the screening of the 10-minute video of the program as a first taste and introduction to European rice.

After the presentations, a live cooking show was held by distinguished Lebanese chefs and a buffet dinner was served with dishes that highlighted the European rice that was used for the cooking of the dishes. Upon their departure, all the guests received as a gift the press kit of the program, as well as advertising and promotional material (brochure and book), while the roll-up banners that were created, were placed in prominent places inside and outside the event hall.
