Within the context of the EU-funded promotional campaign “Information provision and
promotion measure on rice in Jordan, United Kingdom, Israel, and UAE” – EURICE, with a
distinctive title “European Rice”, a press event was organized on Thursday, March 30th at
Hilton Hotel in Liverpool City Center.
The event featured a very interesting lineup of speakers, including Mr. Christos Tsichitas,
President of EASTH SA, Mr. Konstantinos Giannopoulos, General Manager of EASTH, who
presented the producers’ potential, the comparative advantages of the product such as
safety, quality and taste, and the sustainability ensured at the areas of rice cultivation in
Greece.
Speakers also included Mrs Bettina Campolucci Bordi, Food Ambassador of European Rice in the UK, Dr. Tilemachos Zaimis, MD at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital Honorary Clinical Fellow – University of Liverpool, and the renowned Chef Francesco Mercuri who created a delicious rice salad, especially for the event!
Among the guests who attended the press event were professionals on the food sector and
trade, food bloggers, restaurant managers, MDs and dietitians, opinion leaders and chefs,
who had the chance to discover and taste the high-quality European Rice produced in
Greece.
Worth mentioning is that before the event, on March 28 th and 29 th , a series of B2B meetings
took place between the representatives of European Rice producers and major UK food
importers and distributors, fostering potential collaboration prospects.
The EU-funded promotional campaign “Information provision and promotion measure on
rice in Jordan, United Kingdom, Israel, and UAE” – EURICE, with a distinctive title “European
Rice” proposed by the Agricultural Corporate Partnership of Thessaloniki, EASTH S.A. and
implemented by NOVACERT Ltd, aims to spread awareness about European rice produced in
Greece, as well as to enhance its competitiveness in the global market.
